Thanx for the post bro. I took a CS class on Alice last year at NMSU, and I hadn't heard anything about Randy Pausch. I had no idea what an inspirational person he was. Watching his "Last Lecture" has inspired me to take action as well! Alice is a great program, and so much fun. Have you used it? In fact, it's one of the only textbooks I didn't sell back from college because I loved the course so much :)

Hi, Todd!

Sorry for intruding on your blog (very snazzy, by the way), but I am a recent college grad and wanted to see if you could help me in any way.

I just moved to Albuquerque this week (from Provo, Utah) and have been looking for work in a technical writing, graphic design, or editing field. I recently joined Linked In and decided to give the online networking thing a try :) I am looking for work and was wondering if you know of any positions opening up at your company that fit well with my background.

I have an extensive background in writing, research, communications, and graphic design. I completed my undergraduate degree in English (with an art minor), dabbling in technical writing, research writing, print journalism, creative writing, computer arts, fine arts, and more.

I successfully completed two technical writing internships, broadening my communication abilities and computer skills. In my last position, I created an installation guide for Imagine Learning English, a bilingual children's computer program, that will be used by computer technicians around the world. While attending school, I was also self-employed as a freelance graphic artist.

Thank you for your time. Again, sorry for intruding on your blog! I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely Yours,

Apparently it works quite well - I sound like I'm a bit tired or something... but I'm impressed with the voice to text capability of Jott so far --- works well :)

I'd love to be more involved... but no promises. Family, work, church, and school (to name a few) are taking all of my time right now --- but I'd love to give back to the project as I've enjoyed using it in several projects I've done for fun, as well as at work... I'll try to frequent the forums a bit more (time permitting).

Lets hope you new involvement with ImageMagick, allows you to contribute and improve the software. Few of use has formal digital Image processing training. I myself would love some input and comments, that you may have.

Theresa --- old ink jet printers aren't worth much (if anything). You can typically get a brand new one for free - as they make most of their money off of selling the ink. I wouldn't expect to get much, if anything from selling the one you have. You can always try though ;)

Ohh, and as for what "blog" means --- take a look here:

Hello Todd,
Thanks to the blogg (why is it called a "blogg"?) I know who to call
about computer installation in my apt (Of course it could be years
before I get around to doing that - I am resistant to "info age" in
my home since I can go to the college and use theirs for free.

But, I do have a bubble jet color ink printer I need to get rid of
for some sort of $$. Is it worth anything in the world of laser jet
ink printers?
